We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in preparing ingredients and dishes, ensuring high-quality food service in a fast-paced environment. This role is perfect for individuals with a passion for food preparation, culinary arts, and providing exceptional dining experiences. Prior experience in food handling or the food industry is preferred, but we welcome motivated learners eager to develop their skills. There is dual opportunity to join our team as a full time prep cook and part time event chef at a separate hourly rate (starting at $25)

Duties

  • Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, and measuring for various recipes

  • Assist in cooking and assembling dishes according to menu specifications

  • Follow food safety and sanitation standards to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment

  • Support menu planning and meal preparation for daily service or catering events

  • Handle food with care, ensuring proper storage and labeling of ingredients

  • Assist with plating and presentation of dishes before serving

  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness by cleaning workstations, utensils, and equipment regularly

  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and efficient meal service

Skills

  • Experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is a plus

  • Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards

  • Proficiency in menu planning and meal preparation

  • Excellent knife skills and familiarity with various cooking methods

  • Background in restaurant or food service industry preferred

  • Ability to handle food safely and hygienically during meal prep and service

  • Experience with catering or serving is advantageous

  • Good organizational skills with attention to detail in food handling and presentation

  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
